    ABOUT THIS PRODUCT

The Sit Slide & Stand Pad – Bariatric is designed to help people:

    • Slide their hips to the back of a chair to sit comfortably
    • Slide forward to the front of the chair to stand up

It does have a one-way slide mechanism and does not lock on itself to prevent sliding forwards like the Sit, Slide & Stand Pad does.

This product should only be used under guidance and with the carer’s assistance if necessary.

    WHO SHOULD USE THIS PRODUCT?

This product is suitable for bariatric sized people who have difficulty sliding into the back of a chair, and sliding forward to stand up.

    HOW TO USE THIS PRODUCT

Place the Sit Slide & Stand Pad – Bariatric on the chair with the webbing loops at the back of the chair. Then lift up the top section at about half way, and pull it towards the front of the chair to let it overhang the front of the chair. The carers should stand on both sides of the chair and hold the webbing loops, so when the patient sits down on the front section of the pad, they will not slip forward and off the chair. The patient should assist by pushing with their legs to slide back, while the carers pull the webbing back. If necessary two carers can slide the patient on each side. Therefore a total of four carers would be helping slide the patient back into the chair.

When the patient is sitting at the back of the chair, the gold webbing strap should be fastened behind the chair to stop the pad sliding forward. If possible wrap the webbing around the rear legs of the chair before doing the buckle up. Before standing up, release the buckle and hold the webbing loops to control the speed as the patient slides forward. The gold strap and buckle is sewn to the pull back handle.
