ABOUT THIS PRODUCT
The Stand Up Helper enables a carer to assist a person when standing up from a chair, wheelchair, car, bed, or from the floor. It is made from durable webbing that is comfortable to hold and folds flat for easy storage and transport.
An advantage of this product is that the carer does not need to pull directly on the person’s arms, which could otherwise cause bruising or dislocation. The Stand Up Helper does not increase the carer’s strength, but allows them to use body weight more effectively to assist the person to stand safely.

HOW TO USE THIS PRODUCT
The person standing up and carer both hold the Stand Up Helper. Using appropriate manual handling techniques, the carer steps backwards while ensuring the person stands safely.

WARNING
Before using the Stand Up Helper, always assess whether the patient is able to stand with assistance once their feet are positioned correctly. Ensure their feet are properly placed for standing. If they normally use a walking frame or stick, these should be within easy reach once standing.
