- Various hand loop options, so you can use your body weight to help lift the foot
- Available in a standard blue webbing material, or wipeable vinyl material to help fight cross-infection
WHO IS THIS PRODUCT SUITABLE FOR?
This Leg Lifter is suitable for people who want to lift their own leg onto a bed, or into a car.
BRIEF INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE
When sitting on the side of the bed, place the open foot loop over the foot. Lean forward and hold the lowest hand loop possible to make a comfortable lift. Holding your arm straight, lean back, so your body weight will lift the foot off the floor. Some people may use their wrist or forearm if they have difficulty holding the webbing with their fingers. These instructions may vary to suit the individual capabilities of the person.
By crossing one foot over the other, the foot loop can be placed on the lower foot. This way both feet are lifted at the same time. However, if it is always necessary to lift both feet together, the Leg Lifter for Two Feet is a lot more comfortable and easier to use.
When using the Leg Lifter for fitting a sling, first the sling is placed behind the Patient. A Carer places the Leg Lifter over the Patient’s foot. Using the Hand Loops, the Carer raises the thigh while the other Carer slides the sling leg section underneath. Repeat for the opposite leg, and once both of the leg sections are in place, continue fitting the sling webbing to the hoist as per usual.
