ABOUT THIS PRODUCT
The Doorway Webbing Barrier is made from bright orange webbing. It is designed as a visual reminder to help discourage residents from passing through a doorway.
Sometimes a person may walk down a corridor and enter another person’s room without invitation. If the door is kept closed it can make it difficult for staff to observe the person in the room, so it may be necessary to leave the door open. The occupant of the room should still have some privacy, and this barrier helps indicate that others should not enter.
The advantage of the Doorway Webbing Barrier is that the hook & loop tape will easily detach if a person walks into it or falls against it. The webbing is designed to reduce injury risk compared to a metal or plastic chain.
The person may need to be reminded not to remove the barrier, and may learn to recognize and respect other people’s privacy.
The maximum usable length is approximately 120cm / 47″. When used on narrower doorways, the loop dots can be positioned higher on the door frame so the webbing hangs lower at waist height. Twisting the webbing may also make it more visually noticeable for some residents. The Doorway Webbing Barrier may be useful in a variety of areas:
- Storeroom
- Nurses’ station
- Other rooms or hallways that residents should not enter
