ABOUT THIS PRODUCT
The Mitts – Velour are soft padded hand supports designed for ease of application and patient comfort. This product is supplied as a pair.
The mitts allow limited finger movement while reducing the ability to scratch skin or grasp objects, due to the padded construction.
WHO SHOULD USE THIS PRODUCT?
Suitable for people who may require supervised hand protection to reduce risk of self-injury or inadvertent injury to others, under appropriate clinical guidance.
HOW TO USE THIS PRODUCT
The mitts are placed over the hands and secured using the hook & loop fastening.
Ventilation holes may be added or adjusted using appropriate tools, with placement recommended on the back of the hand near the wrist to maintain safety and reduce the risk of finger access.

GENERAL PUBLIC RESTRAINT OR POSITIONING DEVICE AUTHORIZATION LETTER
- If this product is for use in a private home, we require authorization from a suitable person. This is to ensure it will be used correctly and safely by the family and/or carers, and that using it will not be dangerous. Examples of a suitable person who is able to sign the letter are: Occupational therapist; Physiotherapist; Clinical Nurse Manager; Registered Nurse; Doctor; or another suitably qualified person.
- If this product is for use in a care facility such as a hospital or aged care facility, then this letter is not required, because their staff are already trained in safe restraint use.
