ABOUT THIS PRODUCT
The Vented Overlay Pad – Small – TR is a breathable, washable foam pad designed for children and some adults who experience thermoregulation issues. It can be used on chairs, car seats, bassinets, strollers, baby capsules, high chairs, and similar seating to help reduce overheating and perspiration.
The pads are available in black or white. They are covered in a specialist fabric designed to wick moisture away from the body, similar to materials used in sports clothing. The white pad may be more suitable for children who dribble, as staining is more visible on lighter fabric, while the black pad may be more discreet if soiling is not a concern.
Inside the Pad is a special foam that has ventilation holes to allow airflow. An internal layer of thermoregulating (TR) material on both sides of the foam helps assist with body temperature regulation. This is sometimes referred to as thermoneutrality. Custom sizes are available on request.
As part of the Pelican Sleep System, the Vented Overlay Pad is compatible with positioning items such as the Sleep System Positioning Sheet, Body Brackets, and Wedges.
Also available is the larger Vented Overlay Pad (100cm × 100cm × 2cm / 39″ × 39″ × 0.8″), designed for use on beds. This larger version allows the hips and shoulders of an adult to rest on the pad and provides coverage across the bed for positioning supports such as wedges or body brackets.
WHO SHOULD USE THIS PRODUCT?
The Vented Overlay Pad is suitable for use either on its own or in combination with postural sleep support products.
HOW TO USE THIS PRODUCT
The pad can be used with either side facing up. Smaller children may sit partially on the pad with their back supported by it, while larger children or adults may use the full pad behind their back to help reduce moisture buildup.
