ABOUT THIS PRODUCT
The Sling Inspection Tags are color-coded tags fitted to slings to show they have been inspected. They can be fitted to any brand of sling and provide a quick and simple way for staff to confirm that a sling has been checked. More importantly, they indicate when a sling is overdue for inspection.
The International Standard for Slings and Hoists (ISO 10535: Hoists for the transfer of disabled persons – Requirements and test methods) requires patient lifting slings to be inspected at least every 6 months, with inspection records kept and maintained.
The main benefit of these tags is that if a facilityโs slings should all have, for example, a green tag and a black tag is noticed, it immediately indicates that the sling may have missed its inspection.
The tags are sold in packs of 40, consisting of:
- 20 of one month (e.g. January)
- 20 of the corresponding month six months later (e.g. July)
The back of the tag can be used to write information such as a personโs name or room number.

TESTING
The Tags were washed in a commercial washing machine using industrial detergent over 200 times up to 80ยฐC (176ยฐF). They were cool tumble dried as well as being line dried to test for expose to sunlight (UV). The testing showed virtually no loss of quality of both the material and printing. If you do experience any loss of quality, it may be an indication that your Tags have been exposed to a more damaging washing agent than what were tested, in which case the Tags can be replaced.
