ABOUT THIS PRODUCT

The CVA Arm Support Cushion Cover is a curved arm cushion designed to support an arm and hand.

A large inner polythene liner bag is provided. This must be filled by the customer with polystyrene balls, as used in bean bags (not supplied). The amount of balls needed will vary according to the size of the patient and the chair.

Alternative Product: Soft CVA Arm Cushion with a soft, moisture-wicking cover and filled with hollow-core polyester fiber. This may be a better option for people who wish to order a pre-filled Cushion.

WHO SHOULD USE THIS PRODUCT?

The main body of the Cushion is placed on the arm of a chair and molded into shape to support the patient’s arm and hand.

HOW TO USE THIS PRODUCT

To use the Cushion, place the narrow neck behind the patient’s back and have the patient lean back against it. This should hold the neck section in place. However, if needed, there is an elasticized loop sewn into the end of the neck that can be used to tie it to the back of the chair. If the neck is filled with balls, it can serve as lumbar support for the patient.

In addition, there is another elasticized loop provided at the end of the body. A ribbon can be used to secure the loop either around the patient’s wrist or to one of the chair arms. After the patient has been in one position for a while, the nurse can adjust the position to improve circulation.
