ABOUT THIS PRODUCT
The Car/Shower Step is made from extra-strong polystyrene foam and weighs about 0.55kg. It has a heat-sealed waterproof cover with non-slip material on both the top and bottom.
WHO SHOULD USE THIS PRODUCT?
It is designed to provide an additional 10cm of height to assist shorter people when getting into high vehicles such as SUVs, and to help people step safely into a shower. The Step can have up to 330kg of weight standing on it.
HOW TO USE THIS PRODUCT
Using the Step with a Car:
- Place the Step beside the car door. The person steps onto the Step.
- The strap can be attached to the loop on the side of the Step. Position the strap behind the Step so it cannot tangle around the person.
- Once the person is safely seated, the carer can pull the strap to lift the Step without bending.
- The strap is optional and only needs to be used if bending is difficult. It can be removed if it is not needed.
- A Car Seat Slider is also available to reduce friction, making it easier to slide and turn onto the car seat.
Using two Steps in a Shower:
- The strap is usually not required for shower use.
- Place one Step outside the shower and one inside, next to the entry.
- When using in a shower, the Non-Slip Material should not slip when there is weight on the Step. Do not cover the drain hole.
- When using on tiled flooring, as an extra precaution, we used some double-sided sticky tape/carpet tape to stop the Steps from sliding. Simply put a strip under the Step and press it onto the tiles.
- The Step can be prized off for cleaning underneath. After the tiles have been cleaned and dried, the double-sided tape may still be sticky enough to keep the Step in place.
- Remove the Step that is inside the shower periodically to clean underneath and prevent mold.
