ABOUT THIS PRODUCT
The Thermoregulating Mattress Topper is designed for people who may not be able to control their body temperature when sleeping. A mattress topper is a layer placed on top of the mattress, sometimes used to improve comfort or temperature regulation.
The reason people may not be able to control their body temperature may include:
- A reaction to medication
- Menopause
- A physical disability that prevents someone from removing bed coverings
- A personal condition such as hyperhidrosis
About the Thermoregulating (TR) material
TR material contains micro-encapsulated Phase Change Materials (PCMs), and was first developed to help astronauts maintain their body temperature. The material should help to “keep cool people warm” and “keep warm people cool”. It allows heat from the body to escape, or if the body is getting cold, it helps retain warmth. Many people undergoing cancer treatment such as chemotherapy and radiotherapy may benefit from the cooling material.
WHO SHOULD USE THIS PRODUCT?
The Thermoregulating Mattress Topper is suitable for someone who runs too hot or too cold at night or during sleep.
HOW TO USE THIS PRODUCT
Place the Mattress Topper on the mattress. The four elastic corner straps are long enough to fit very deep mattresses. Fit the elastic straps under the corners of the mattress and adjust using the buckle to ensure a secure fit. Do not overtighten the straps, so the elastic can expand when the person gets into bed.
When fitting, be aware that the TR Mattress Topper material does not have stretch properties, so the material may crease under the patient. The benefit of reducing perspiration may outweigh this, depending on the care requirements. As part of normal nursing practice, the patient’s skin integrity should be checked regularly.

Thermoregulating material, non-latex rubber.
WARNING
As the reasons people perspire can vary, we cannot guarantee the TR material will work for everyone. We are unable to accept returns for credit if the product does not work due to cross-infection control requirements.
Highly flammable material. Keep away from flames, cigarettes, and other ignition sources. Store in a cool, dry place.
