ABOUT THIS PRODUCT
The Wheelchair Trunk Slider assists with lifting a wheelchair into the trunk of a vehicle. It was the winner of the People’s Choice Award on ABC television’s The New Inventors (2006).
People often experience difficulty lifting a wheelchair into a vehicle trunk and may otherwise need to manually lift it. The Wheelchair Trunk Slider is specially designed so that a wheelchair can be pushed into it from either side of the car.
It is suitable for collapsible manual (push) wheelchairs that fold side-to-side. It is generally not suitable for large, heavy electric wheelchairs that do not collapse, or wheelchairs that fold front-to-back. Please contact us if you are unsure.
Note: The names “Wheelchair Trunk Slider” and “Wheelchair Boot Slider” are used interchangeably depending on region.

Trunk Blanket – Padded section that protects the rear of the vehicle. Includes a thinner internal section that provides a low-friction surface to assist sliding the wheelchair in and out of the boot. (SKU: 580BB) |

Slider Platform – Holds and guides the wheelchair during transfer. The cover secures the wheelchair using hook & loop tape at the top corners. Includes two detachable Stop Straps: a 35cm / 13.7″ blue strap for front wheels, and a 73cm / 29″ red strap for securing rear wheels on larger wheelchairs. The red strap may not be required for standard wheelchairs. (SKU: 580SP) |

Ground Protector – Placed on the ground beneath the Slider Platform to protect it from dirt, moisture, and abrasion. It also helps keep clothing clean clothes clean when leaning the Wheelchair Trunk Slider up against the thigh. A webbing strap connects it to the Trunk Blanket to reduce the risk of misplacement and assist retrieval without bending. (SKU: 580GP) |

WHO SHOULD USE THIS PRODUCT?
Suitable for people who need assistance lifting a wheelchair into the trunk or trunk of a vehicle.
HOW TO USE THIS PRODUCT
Lay the Trunk Blanket across the trunk area. Undo the hook & loop strap to open the Slider Platform cover. Position the folded wheelchair and secure it using the stop strap.
Lean the Slider Platform against the vehicle and lift using the front handles. The wheelchair weight is then supported on the trunk edge, with the user taking remaining weight on the thigh. Step forward to allow the wheelchair to slide into the boot.
Removing the wheelchair from the trunk is even easier. Lift the wheelchair onto the edge of the trunk using the two small loops, then hold the front cover handles to slide the Slider and wheelchair, slowly, gently and safely down to the ground.

WARNING
This product uses the leverage of the vehicle trunk edge to assist lifting. It does not reduce the weight of the wheelchair, and manual handling is still required. The wheelchair shown in demonstration materials weighs approximately 17kg / 37.5lbs.
Before ordering, please confirm compatibility with your vehicle. The maximum height from ground to trunk lip is approximately 75cm / 30″.
